saved by the tape............

I've been having a little trouble getting over some damage one of my daughters did to 2 (2!) cars in OUR DRIVEWAY. Neither car hers of course. At first I didn't think this bothered me that much, however, truth be told, I couldn't help but associate her with the crumpled front end, the yellow film that substituted for plastic lenses and the large amount of duct tape that was holding the pieces in place (all weather, extra strength, color matched duct tape - is there anything duct tape can't do?). I was having difficulty with my happy thawts. Yesterday while rooting around the hooptie I am forced to utilize while my motorcycle is down for repairs, I found a mixtape she had made and left behind. She is particularly good at this mixtape business, all retro and current and traditional and cutting edge and nostalgic and full of surprises and the tape was such a nice diversion from driving a 4 wheeled vehicle and was chock full of songs that were just so her that I couldn't help but think of her charming and disarming smile and her pixie cute face and I came to admit that no matter what, she does what she does and she is who she is and I now and forever will love her unconditionally. So I got over it in that instant and smile again when I think of her. The estimate for the repairs is due later today. I'm keeping the tape close at hand.

  1. yea everytime i look at my dented altima i kinda want to throw a book at her ..but then i remember that its just a car and it cant be a hook up to good music, a comedian , a good competitor, a shoulder , an honest opinion on what you look like in those pants, and a best friend. now everytime i look at my dent i get really homesick and can't wait for the holidays when i get to spend time with both of my awesome sisters and family. it's become the sentimental dent haha.
